Nonsense imho. Why make sure?
BA offers exactly same seat and service on the 380 vs 77W.

I flew BA11 A380 2 weeks ago and back on BA16 earlier this week with the 77W, CW all the way and had 2 great flights.

No, it's a BKK fare. You would have to buy separate flights from BKK/KUL/SIN.

I believe this fare is available pretty constantly with a 60 day pre-flying purchase requirement

I'm doing it in a couple of weeks AMS-LHR-HKG-BKK-SIN-LHR-AMS - additional hops in Asia between BKK, SIN, HKG and KUL each come in around £100 extra - so whole fare was £1,400ish

You have to phone BA to book as you can't book the intra-Asia legs which are all on Cathay, online.

I've also upgraded LHR-HKG to first for a mere 27k avois and £2.20

Thanks for re-flagging this one. It is a decent fare and routes can be created to maximise night flights (aka avoid the LHR-BKK direct!) what you can do is a AMS-LHR-HKG-BKK-KUL-LHR-AMS through the Holidays making function (ensure your country is set to Netherlands before trying)

You can then get the above combo on many many dates, allowing better aircraft, times and Upgrading to F if you book on dates with Award availability (mainly into 2019) which will make it a very pleasant experience. Best part - can pay EUR300 deposit and pay off as and when you can. Have a play around - the Holiday function always starts with LHR-BKK but you can change to HKG & KUL fairly easily. If it doesn't give you exactly what you want, book and call within 24 hours and change to the flights you prefer, still only paying a deposit :)

Do you have to add a hotel to do this?

Thanks for the tip. I briefly tried the NH site but haven't been able to pull out the HKG/SIN leg... will give it another go later...

Yes or car. I booked a one night stay near Krabi. Will use it night before heading back to BKK

Is it possible to route between LHR-HKG vv. on CX or LHR-KUL vv. on MH?

AS said upthread, that routing has to be booked via BA Holidays.

This fare keeps popping up frequently. I would like to pull the trigger, but I really dislike that as a "regular" no status C class paying pax I am unable to
make a seat selection without paying an exorbitant fee for it.

Hi, I had a play with Matrix (using the multi city option) and something like below should help you get the lower fares.

Hope that helps!https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...a40613a0d8.png

In my opinion thats fine. As a really late booking person who pays a lot I don't wanne stuck in the middle seat. In this case alliance loyality makes sence.

Booked tonight via the BA gold line an AMS-LHR-HKG(3 day stopover)-BKK early Jan and return BKK-SIN-LHR-AMS mid april for 1598€ all inclusive, so 20€ cheaper than what ITA was quoting. HKG-BKK on RJ and BKK-SIN on CX. All long hauls on BA 388. 460TP in total. Very helpful agent on the phone BTW. The call took less than 10min in total. Quite happy as I needed to be in HKG between Jan 3rd-6th.
it's not a QR deal but it will do the job...
