BA: MAN - JMK in J £352

The Manchester direct route for a decent price compared to ex LHR. Only possible for a one week stay (only one departure per week).

Minimum of 5K in avios. 160 tps @£2.20 per tier point.

https://www.google.co.uk/flights/#se...017-06-02;sc=b

Also possible to combine with flight plus hotel from £500ppn with extra avios.

AGP (Malaga) is also showing 80TPs each way on the calculator. Flight only is quite expensive, but can be combined with hotel for better deals.

So what's wrong with that? Seems like a very good find to me - if you can get 2C or D it's very comfortable as memory serves.

So what? That's more or less true of most intra-European air travel.

Why do people love using geek-speak in these threads?

Next step will leapfrog those effete IATA codes and go for full-strength ICAO: EGCC LGMK

ICAO are (IMO) easier to decipher if you know the logic - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern...n_airport_code

If you happen know the letter codes for regions and countries then you are able to identify those from the first two letters of (most) ICAO codes. Being a geek in aircraft registration identifiers can help here .

It will let you down with overseas dependencies, where the system can suddenly desert its geocentric approach for a political one.

So I'll agree that in the case of LGMK, after the L gives me Southern Europe and the G confirms Greece, it's relatively easy to guess at MK indicating Mykonos.

But in most cases those remaining, final, two letters will fox you. There's nothing at all intuitive, or helpful, in the allocation of CC to Manchester, LL to London Heathrow and BA to Istanbul Ataturk: whereas MAN, LHR and IST are the tad more helpful iATA versions.

For the Cox's Bazaars of this world (CXB v VGCB) it's a bit of a toss up. Though I'll concede that knowledge of geographic identifiers would bring the ICAO fan immediately to Bangladesh, there are few of us with that knowledge drilled into us - so my vote goes to the intuitive elegance of CXB

I for one knew. Many people who have actually booked tickets and flown there know.
