edit: oops too late
During most of March (when the NY and LDN are only 4 timezones apart) one can connect from AA954 from EZE on to BA's second day flight to LHR from JFK (BA178). AA954 arrives 6.22am and BA178 departs at 8.30am. Would save discomfort of the double overnight. Unfortunately I just can't find I class availability on BA, even via AA codeshares

Does business class have bonus EQM or EQP? I am thinking of doing the 25k EQP status challenge with AA, would this flight contribute much?

This was around 6 months ago. Lots of discussion about it here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premi...te-thru-n.html

Cool! Does that mean the EQM bonus is also 1.5x?

Nope, EQM stays flat at 100%.
AMS-LHR-JFK-MIA-SCL-MIA-MAD is aroun 17.5k miles, so with the 50% EQP boost it should yield over 26k EQP - enough for the challenge.

Don't forget, the EQP bonus before the year ends! 2.0x EQP

The extra 0.5 EQP doesn't count towards the challenge though .

I thought that I saw a bonus for EQM going on, but I cant find the deal at the moment.

There is also the 125k (for 5 trips) bonus going on which will give you additional EQM - although reading the rules now it does say round trip between US and EU which means this may not (ie. won't) count.

Ah okay we're talking about the challenges, sorry

Got my hold purchased and ticketed! This is going to be insane, I have to get started on those position flights.

I managed an over night at JFK but that is all!

Try to get the new business class on the 767 instead of the old configuration on the 777 (AA 225 & 226, MIA-SCL)

That must be a layover then, less than 24 hours stop. Still good, there's a lot you could do in NYC in a day..or a night!

I hadn't seen the previous thread about similar fares and had been looking for a trip to SCL for next year. So thanks OP, just booked this one

I just booked MAD-JFK-EZE//GIG-JFK-ZRH for 1480eur. It was also possible to book to SCL instead of EZE on the inbound, and the price would have been even lower at 1330eur.

The benefit of starting in Madrid is that it becomes a one-stop on the inbound (no need to transfer through LHR). I also could have transferred through MIA instead of JFK, but AA's seatplans showed the new business class on the 777's from JFK compared to the old business class on the 777's from MIA.

Best to search on ITA matrix (found some flights that Google Flights didn't) and book through the US aa.com website, which has seatplans and routing rules (compared to the NL aa.com website, which doesn't).

For Skyteam lovers: KLM/AF has business class fares in 1800eur range on ZRH-GRU/GIG/EZE-ZRH route
