wow thanks for all the feedback! I am going to school in europe for a while and tuition is in EUR, so I bought some at my local forex the past couple of months and now need to carry it there. I hate dealing with banks so that's why I use physical notes I will fill out the form and hand it over to a customs official

Is that lifesize? Since the Euro notes increase in size with value is the E500 note huge?

hehe nope but it is big! bigger than a $100 bill maybe about 1.5 of them across

1. travelers checks are the equivalent of checks. i used to carry blocks of them back and forth, and was required to report them.

2. if you do business in usa and use a currency exchange facility, they will provide you with most currencies in the quantity desired at less than a 1% exchange rate.

when required to pay the room bill in italy in advance, i get a pile of euro. the company does not like doing this, as it is not their normal business, but they will do it as a favor.
