Spotted in the line (literally) to the checkpoint
Waiting in line to go through security at MLI this morning when a TSA'er walked upstream in the line against the grain saying hello and good morning to each and every person in line. Each of us had to move aside to let her pass.
When she circled back outside the line to go back to the checkpoint, I asked her if she was spotting today. She said, no, just being friendly.
Uh huh.
New customer-centric approach or am I just jaded?

With the (apparent) demise of SSSS, they're obviously overstaffed and desperate for some way to look busy.
(Of course, they were overstaffed and trying to look busy before...)
I don't want to talk to TSA, but if they start it, has anybody tried reversing-spotting the TSA? "I'm going to BWI, thanks, but how about you? Where did you drive from this morning? How long have you lived there? What are you doing this evening? When was the last time you took a vacation? Do you like working for the TSA? Why?" and so on. I hear it works on tele-marketers.

The feeling's mutual, goalie.

If anyone tries this, let me know how it goes. I'm avoiding the US as much as possible and now that I'm an "ebil metal-implant ter'wrist" (as goalie might say) they'll be so busy groping
I probably have a lower chance of being spotted.

I know it's almost four more years until the next presidential election. But this past year I stumbled on a very effective way to end the campain calls...
1.) Get the name of the telemarketer that called you.
2.) Ask if they would appreciate a donation.
3.) Get the name and contact information for the campain fund manager.
4.) Let them know if you get another call from them, you'll be making a donation to the competition with a carbon copy to their office and a letter explaining why.
End of phone calls.^
