D'oh!
I could only see " Oprah to have TSA worker..." in the forum preview and was so hoping for a verb of a different nature.
Oprah's got the cash. She could make it happen...

Did you see the related post on Propaganda Village? (https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?bl...28797940320599)
Apparently someone (was it TSA or Oprah?) paid to fly a BDO from some undisclosed airport to Chicago for the show.
Having to fly someone in sure implies there are no BDOs at ORD or MDW that are articulate enough and/or polite enough to talk to Oprah.
IMO the only good likely to come out of the whole thing is this:
Maybe the experience gave BDO Stephanie a small taste of the stress of flying, weather delays, irregular ops, and fear of missing a key meeting that might cause innocent law-abiding passengers to appear nervous or agitated at the airport.

Its interesting that they chose a female to be on the show. Im sure the BDO will elicit sympathy from Oprahs demographic.

The Queen of Fluff doing another fluff piece. How original.
I'm sure the audience of tearful, but well dressed folks will be full of sympathy - until they get to the airport and a screener starts yelling at them.

If this SPOTNik accepted a free plane ticket to appear on the show, was on annual leave during the entire time she is absent from duty, and appears on the show as a private citizen, I might be able to get past the actual ethics violation part, although there still is a perception of an ethics violation.
If she accepts the gift of the plane ticket and appears on the show in her official capacity as a SPOTNik, in or out of uniform, there is a big-time ethics violation.
Now, if the show had invited the TSA to send in a SPOTNik for an on-camera interview, there are standard ways for the government to accept the invitation. Chief TSA Spokesholess Ellen Howe would have approved the arrangement and the interview. In this case, the taxpayers pay for the travel. The individual is officially on duty and the only monetary benefit she would receive is travel per diem.
Somehow, I can't say "TSA" and "ethics" in the same sentence.

No mention of any kind of rudeness on the part of any TSA people.
