Lagos version of TSA didn't get the memo

Nasty woman at the Lagos terminal x-ray opened my computer bag and fished out 2 lighters and a pack of matches. Apparently they didn't get the memo that every other screening organization dropped that ridiculous lighter ban over a year ago.
She, being well trained, missed the third lighter right under her nose.

So anyone wanting to keep your bics should be aware to revert back to the old 'small size bic in front pocket' tactic.

But not to worry, if you forget, you can buy a new one at the snack bar off to the right after you pass security.
These are more expensive because they are "secure" bics that have been screened for explosives.

Dude, that happened to my rich uncle (that I didn't know about) that lived in Lagos, now he wants to mail me a check for 10 million so he can get 8 mil and I get to keep the difference.

Lagos security is all about show, not action. They took my water bottle, but I was later informed that I could have avoided that result with some grease Of course, that begs the question as to exactly how much is a bottle of water worth?

In general I was impressed with Lagos security, though the gate rape was unnecessary. But again, it is all for show, as LOS was forced to beef up the process after being put on the danger list in the 90s.
