For the first time ever I had someone give a visual cursory look at my liquid bag today. Happened in Athens.

Don't want to give any ideas to anyone, but if we are going to go through the liquid zoo this makes more sense than x raying it.

How so? Did he have special glasses that enabled the detection of so-called dangerous explosive chemicals?

I hope you had an inspirational message written on your baggie.

The mandatory xray gives away a Big Secret: A xray detectable metal object (like a knife or detonator or bullets) hidden inside an opaque 3.4 oz bottle is a much greater danger than whatever liquid is in any of the bottles. TSA knows it, the sheeple are supposed to be too stupid to figure it out.

It's time to start a rumor that hydrogen peroxide glows under UV light. They can then take the UV from the slows-down-the-line ID checker and have the xray tray stacker UV every Kippie Bag on the belt. It will really impress the he double el out of the Kettles this summer. "Look Pa, how thorough these folks are protecting us. They even use their Tom Swift electric light on every little bottle!" Pure Oscar winning Security Theater.

This happened to me in DIA on Thursday; a TSA agent had a desk set up at the end of the (extremely long) line up for security and was inspecting everyone's baggies before they got to screening to make sure they wouldn't hold up the screening with their lethal toothpaste tubes.

It made sense from that perspective, at least, as much as the liquid ban ever has.

Unfortunately the plastic bag and the plastic bottles are likely to fluoresce, causing a chain reaction of time consuming proportions...

If you really want to invoke a reaction, track down some 3oz or less uranium glass bottles...

Wouldn't it be more fun to start putting our boarding passes and ID's inside a zip-lock bag before handing them to the moat dragons? I thinking that it might be a lot of fun to laminate my BP before my next flight.
