Terminal Dump at BUF
http://www.wivb.com/global/story.asp?s=8308386
A woman enters through an exit unchecked and turns herself in. Please excuse me while I bang my head against a wall. I've been flying in and out of BUF for years and have found it to be Amateur Hour for both Pax and TSA.
Transportation Security Administration investigators are trying to figure out just how a woman was able to walk through the exit lane at the security checkpoint without being noticed Sunday.
NFTA spokesman Doug Hartmayer says the woman didn't realize she went the wrong way, until she got to her gate.
Doug Hartmayer said, "She mentioned to a JetBlue employee that she had not been screened, and the JetBlue employee then took her down to the NFTA Police, who immediately notified the TSA, and they shut down the checkpoint at that point in time."

Wow, MSY and BUF TSA decided to put "be stupid" at the top of their to-do lists.*

I will second spiff - But give me a break they dump a whole terminal because of a honest person well that was totally stupid, but where was the exit monitor in all of this?
This ranks up there with TSA/DHS thinking suspisious behavior is a arrestable offense when they should look internally first because i see whole lot of suspicious activity on there end.

Officials say a woman scheduled to travel on a Jet Blue flight to New York City never entered the mandatory screening lines.
Instead, they say she walked right through an exit doorway toward the East concourse.
Authorities say there was a TSA official at that post who somehow missed her.

Once, just once I'd like the media to call it like it is. A dozy
ing screener.

What the news link says:
"Investigators say the woman told an airline employee that she hadn't been checked."She mentioned to a Jet Blue employee that she had not been screened," said NFTA spokesman Doug Hartmeyer. "The Jet Blue employee then "
How the news link ends:
"took her down to the NFTA police, who immediately notified the TSA. At that time, the TSA shut down the security checkpoint. The East and West concourses were then evacuated, and bomb dogs brought in."
How the news link SHOULD end IF there was any sanity left in this world:
"took her down to the NFTA police, who after questioning the woman and finding it was a confused passenger (known in industry slang as a "Kettle") who made an honest mistake, wrote down her name and address and made her raise her hand and swear under penalty of perjury "I did NOT bring any atomic bombs, dirty bombs, single or binary chemical bombs, flamethrowers, hand grenades, guns, knives, brass knuckles, kitchen sinks, illegal immigrants, drugs, diamonds, currency or convertable instruments, pirated Microsoft software or Madonna CDs, water, yogurt or any liquid over 3.4 ounces into this sterile area and did not hand off same to any tewwowists, plant in a trashcan, or leave any behind a toilet tank where a perverted US Senator might find it." After which the police thanked her for her honesty, and said "You're plane is boarding, have a nice flight to New York." Event over, case closed.

Hey, staying awake on the exit lane is just about the toughest part of my job!
Edited to add: I think the actions taken by the TSA in this case reflected not only the threat posed by the passenger in question (obviously low) but also concern over who ELSE might have gained access while the exit lane monitor was absent or asleep!
We had a breach at my airport a few months ago -- a trainee was left alone on the exit lane. When no one came to relieve her at the end of her shift, she simply got up and left! Oops. Needless to say, the mentor who was supposed to be shadowing her at all times got a serious butt-chewing, as did she. Don't think they dumped the checkpoint over it, though ...

I think B6 employees has been making mistakes when she gotten through exiting from sterile area without she need to be screened at checkpoint. She won't happening again when she need go back to front of checkpoint. Its not her fault when they didn't realized know her. She was supposed to go through security screening. If someone who went through by exiting of checkpoint. TSA will be result to be fired or suspension from their jobs. It's extremely important where the employees need to being screening front of security checkpoint instead exit of sterile area.
