cnn.com: "Al Qaeda doesn't leave a rocket launcher on the lawn of middle-aged ladies"

Per the discussion currently running in OMNI -- Rocket Launcher found on a lawn near EWR flight path.. -- here's the latest from CNN:

(CNN) -- Police and FBI agents are investigating the discovery of an empty rocket launcher tube on the front lawn of a Jersey City, New Jersey, home, FBI spokesman Sean Quinn said.

Niranjan Desai discovered the 20-year-old AT4 anti-tank rocket launcher tube, a one-time-use device, lying on her lawn Friday morning, police said.

The launcher has been turned over to U.S. Army officials at the 754th Ordnance Company, an explosive ordnance disposal unit, at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, Army officials said.
Even if two miles from EWR that's still clearly within range for this device, not to mention the homeowner's property lies along a flight path.

Reportedly spent launcher tubes (not reusable) are sold to the public in military surplus stores.

This sounds like a big non event, although it might be interesting to learn who did the woman the favor of leaving it on her lawn.

If Islamowackos destroy an airliner by using SAM device(s), at least TSA will be able to proclaim that shoe bombs or binary liquid explosives were not the cause.

If it was an AT4 Spigot, that's an anti-tank weapon, not a surface-to-air missle (SAM). Maximum range 2000 meters, maximum burn 11 seconds. Likelihood of an untrained operator hitting anything with it - about 0.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.
