Carry aboard cheesecake?
I'm in NY this week and really would like to bring home a Junior's cheesecake. Would a cheesecake make it through the JFK security checkpoint? They're rather pricey so I would hate to see it tossed out.
(I remember a posting about a pie through security posted to flyertalk around Thanksgiving but can't find that thread now)

Nope do not bring it in Carryon.
You will be told to go back to the ticket counter and check another bag or TSA will dispose of it.

Juniors ships
Why take the chance. Throw away a Juniors cheesecake? Never. I have Juniors shipped to CA. They arrive in great condition. Love the stuff. Best ever. Hop on their web site.

And as has been covered before numerous times, that absolves you of all responsibility.
To the OP: Welcome to Flyertalk.
I'd bring it and tell the screeners to go straight to hell if they tried to ban my cheesecake.
Given that many screeners don't mention the presence of a baggie inside my carryon (containing all sorts of liquids), just leave the cheesecake in your bag and odds are, the professional screeners won't notice it.

Sigh, that's basically what I thought
And I had considered the contingency plan of sitting down and eating it right at the checkpoint (although the last time I ate a whole cheesecake I was queasy for at least two days).
As to paying to have the cheesecake shipped...I'm too cheap.

Why not freeze the cake? It would then quite obviously be a solid.

As the OP's query has been answered (and answered and answered), I'll close the thread as it's on a collision path with FT's TOS.
