TSA Rough Pat Down

I went through security at IAH today 2 1/2 weeks post ankle surgery. I was asked if I could walk through (I was in a wheelchair) and I said "No". I then went through the pat down. The TSA agent asked if I had any sensitive areas which I replied "not other than my ankle" and pointed to my air cast. She did the pat down and then squeezed my air cast around my ankle at which I winced and cried out in pain. She said "Oh, did that hurt - I'm sorry".

Then she was done. She did no test on my cast or chair (having been in a wheelchair for the past six months, I've gotten pretty used to the drill) or hands.

Bizarre. I'm not sure if she was untrained or just a sadist. Worst experience I've had going through security since I was injured six months ago and I've been through security at least twice a week. My pain level was down - until today.

Sounds like a sadist to me.

She had no business even touching your cast. Did you file a complaint? If not, I would suggest you do so immediately, giving the full details of your screening so that this person can be identified. Send a copy to airport management, the airline on which you travel as well as the head TSA honcho at IAH.

Since you indicate that you travel frequently, could you ID her if you saw her again? If so, file an amendment to your complaint giving her name and badge number

I could easily identify her and have her name, a detailed description and time of entry. I am definitely filing a complaint when I return.
