I only need a little for the top of the head on sunny days. The TSA guy told me it wasn't the liquid contents, but the size of the container that mattered. See, I knew the whole size doesn't matter, it's how it's used thing was just made up and not true!
Somehow I knew before even opening this thread that the TSAer in question wasn't going to be a woman.

Well... I have to say that I've seen the same thing as OP described practically every time I've flown during the past couple of months.

Picture now if you will the amount of time it will take a screener to individually evaluate the internal contents of each toiletry over 3oz. Multiple that by the time it takes to get through the security checkpoints. Picture the lines growing and growing and growing. You knew the rules. It sucks you couldnt take it through but I have no sympathy. Blame those fellas in England. Not the TSA.

Same deal with me in CLE on the weekend. Took the toothpaste with obviously less than 3oz left, the original capacity was 6.8oz. The TSA in MKE on the outbound didn't even bat an eye at my tube.

I'd call it a shoe in the machine. You'd probably call it "terrorism".

Ja Voll! The rules! We shouldn't hold our government responsible for wasting our time and money. We shouldn't question the wisdom, efficacy, or legality of the rules. We should enforce them and mock those that don't follow them as blindly as we do!

While I don't agree with the rule to begin with, going by the number on the bottle is probably the best thing to do to speed up this idiocy.

Nevermind the fact that half of the scary "liquids" aren't liquid and hence aren't measured by fluid ounces, so the number on the bottle is meaningless.
