Contact Lens solution now allowed
Don't know if this has been reported already but just read on NWA that contact lens solution is now allowed carry -on, some sense of sanity returning.

This is more for the T S & S forum so I'm moving it there... Mods if it's something you want to merge, go ahead.

I suspect TSA is getting overwhelmed with complaints and are having to adjust the list of items constantly. It seems to be different every time I look at their site.

What I want to know is whether I need to have a 4 oz bottle, or whether I can have an old bottle with less than 4 oz in it.
I think the standard bottles are 10 oz. I recall being given tiny sample bottles from my eye doctor, but I have no idea whether you can buy these small bottles in the store.

Ok, I forget - why is 4 oz good and 5 oz bad? Other than an arbitrary line - probably Chertoff looked in his briefcase and saw a 4-oz bottle of nose spray or something and said "that looks like a good amount" - is there a particular reason?

I started carrying contact lens solution last week. The bans are just dumb and not being enforced. I am glad that the TSA is allowing sanity to return to the system.
