No response at all to my comments?

I'm disappointed Bart. I was trying to be serious. I hate seeing you cop out like this.

I re-applyed for my job. I passed the test, the physical, and all the rest of the bull and received a letter last week telling me that I'm not qualified to be a TSO. No explanation, nothing. This just adds to why I think the organization is so corrupt. Maybe I should apply to McDonalds.

Lets face the facts:
1. TSO officers don't know what 0+0
2. Since TSO officers are illegal citizens they only know how to say a few phrases in the English Language
:We recommend you take your shoes off
:You are going to secondary
:Let me see your ID
:I like what is in your bag, I am confiscating that
3: They think that New Mexico is an international destination

So why don't you just admit that it is easier to get a job at Taco Bell/McDonalds then to become a TSO
Actually, I met ALOT of passengers that arrived at the International Terminal to go to New Mexico. Also met one that wanted to go to New England. Believe me, the TSA does not have a monopoly on "Stupid". Its actually a disgrace that people don't know where these places are. ^ ^ for our schools!!!

Use that against them. Did you find a lawyer yet?

Good luck. Let us know what happens. Don't have to get too detailed though.

Unless this is part of some litigation strategy, why in the world would you consider reapplying for the same horrible job? There are interesting jobs out there if you are willing to spend some time looking.

Why don't you want something better?

What's horrible to you may not be so horrible to me. I liked my job, I enjoyed going in every day, something I guess some people will never understand. But then again, I can't understand how people can sit behind a desk in a cubicle somewhere staring at a computer screen for hours a day. I would have to blow my brains out if that was what I had to look forward to. And believe it or not, I was good at it. I think I was one of those screeners that really tried my best to make your time with me a little bit nicer. I laughed alot with passengers everyday. And I truly believe the reason given to me for my termination was a bunch of bull. I did something that ticked off the upper management at my airport and they found a way to get rid of me. And that is wrong. I did my very best each and every day when I went to work, and took pride in what I was doing. I guess I reapplied to see if they got rid of me because I was not qualified or some other reason and I got my answer.

You're obviously way overqualified for the job. However, seeing that they'll hire high school drop outs that worked as rent-a-cops for a year, it makes you wonder if these are the people we want protecting our freedoms. The work isn't terribly difficult, it can get boring and the pay isn't that great, so it's a catch 22 on getting good people.
The people you want who would make a career out of this cost more than 15 bucks an hour... And 15 bucks is the high end of the scale for the average screener.

Not that anything we do is rocket science -

*beep*

You seem to have alarmed the walkthru, please step back, and...

Doesn't really require a high school diploma...

I agree that it would cost more. However, I think that it should at least start at the top with management. They're paid a good bit (FSD's make a lot more than I do, for example), yet we get the kind of poor leadership that rolls s**t down hill. So by the time it hits the rank and file screeners, they really don't have good examples to look up to.

Bad apples in the rank and file would and should, of course, be terminated.

There are a lot of good hardworking people who wear those uniforms for 6-8-10-and 13 hours a day. I cant stand when someone tries to insult the intelligence of the many by the actions of the few. Lots of former military are also TSO's so I guess they are Mcdonalds workers to.

A lot of TSO's come to work with that same attitude! But we are out-numbered and easily singled out by the high and mighty frequent flyers.

We need better management in my opinion. They have their ways of getting rid of people who are a threat!

As pointed out in the oher thread, there are plenty more TSAers who feel they are 'high and mighty.' Have you ever heard yourself or your colleagues use the question 'do you want to fly today?' Plenty of people here have. Another retaliatory strike by your bretheren for a bruised ego is the 'continuous screening' lie.

Yeah, those tactics will teach us a lesson, huh? Talk about winning the battle but losing the war. And you guys wonder why most of the frequent flier community and most of the flight crews I talk to think of the TSA less than bath water (putting it midly). Not to mention what they think of you personally.

You should be thankful for the supervisors, aka management. They just rubber stamp your 'continuous screening' BS. Were it not for them, you might actually be held accountable for your actions.

Like they did to Bambi when she blew the whistle when she saw things running amok?

My only question is this: a threat to whom?
