All items stored in overhead bins... and funny aerosol spray!
On a recent TG flight BKK=CMB, part of the safety briefing was...
Please store all items in the overhead bins. Any items not able to be stored above, can be cheked it and stowed as baggage.
The FA identified it as a Sri Lanka safety initiative. Anyone else hear of this?
Also, before landing they walked through the cabin spraying with sometype of dis-infectant from aerosol cans.... ?

In certain Asian and African regions, airlines spray insecticides in their cabins to stop malaria (and probably other diseases, too). Some people complain about it, but it's been going on for at least 20 years.
I have no idea what Sri Lanka terrorism -- which I thought was over now, anyway -- has to do with storing bags on the floor. Makes no sense to me. Maybe this is another order from the TSA emperors.
