Karate Question

My son, a Karate brown belt, is currently spending a year in the Orient. If he becomes a black belt during that time, thus making his hands lethal weapons, will he be allowed to carry them with him during flights or will they have to be kept in his checked baggage?

Happy Holidays.. Dovster. I don't think the Passover Holidays would be better next year with your son's hands checked in luggage while he is on board the plane.

Of course he would still be "armed" but what if he is not "handed" his checked baggage on arrival due to lost/stolen luggage?

In order to expedite the screening process, your son's hands should be amputated and placed through the x-ray machine. They may then be be reattached after your son walks through the medical detector.

The TSA will provide sutures and glue for a nominal fee.

The TSA is interested in keeping the screening process efficient, so passengers have the option:
- Keep all appendages un-amputated and submit to lengthy and humiliating secondary screening
- Amputate appendages prior to submitting to screening.

Or simply send the whole child as a checked bag. He may be charged an overweight fee...

I'm afraid that this is not an option in this case. The child stands somewhere over 6' 3" and, as mentioned earlier, is very active in the martial arts.

In fact, ever since he was 14 the only thing that enabled me to discipline him was the fact that as an Israeli Army Reserve sharpshooter I kept my sniper rifle in the house.

I hope that you never threatened him with such. That would be considered child abuse ... even if he was bigger than pappa.

Nope, in fact I was quite fair. I always gave him a 100 meter running start before opening fire.

We will just put him on the "No Fly" list. No problem. Have him take a slow boat to china.

You can't put him on the "no fly" list. He has a fly. In fact, he has one on every pair of pants he owns.

I am sure he finds good ways to open his fly in Israel as well as in East Asia. Plenty of "attractive" reasons in both places.

You may not have to baggage check your son's hands, but you can have some fun. Make him a T-shirt that says: "You can't baggage check a black-belt."

He'll have to have the TSA wrap his hands in 10 inches of foam to mitigate the risk.

He doesn't need to eat or use the bathroom on the flight, does he?

Maybe since his fingertips are rounded, he may be okay to go through!

But what if his fingernails are too sharp?
