Spiff - I envy your confidence in the good of our fellow man that you can advocate no border control whatsoever - I'm not that confident, and given the past few years, I have no inclination to give the benefit of the doubt. On the 24 hour question, I actually agree with you in principle, but the costs of this policy may not be reasonable in light of the benefit gained. If all border crossings have to be staffed 24/7, this one would probably be closed, and everyone would have to "go around" all the time.
