Importing dried fruit

Anyone know If you can bring dried fruit back into the US? I’m looking to bring back some dried apricots and mango from Israel. I have GE and know I have to declare it at the kiosk or risk getting fined/suspended.

Yes, you can, but there are many restrictions.

Please refer to the following thread:
P.S. I moved your question from the Trusted Travelers to the Practical TSS forum as what type of fruit can be imported to the US and from where is not directly related to the Trusted Travelers programs.

You may want to take a look at Table 3-141 (at page 3-107) of the USDA Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual (PDF).

Dried mango without seed can be brought into the US but must pass the agricultural inspection.

Apricots may be considered "Other than above" as listed in Table 3-138 on page 3-106 and may also be brought into the US subject to an inspection.

Edited to add: I just found an electronic version of the manual:

I have brought dried fruit back from Chile. Declared it and had no problem.

Got through JFK just fine. Declared it on the GE machine got an O. Officer asked what I had, I told him, he called over to another officer to make sure it was fine and then he let me through, no muss no fuss.
