Are We Two Now?

As I type, various committee members are discussing whether adult professionals with differing points of view can be expected to sit at the same table.

You don't hear EPIC representatives wailing, casting themselves to the floor and drumming their heals because they have to share a table with representatives of the TSA.

Why are our "government officials" acting like two year olds, while the citizens they hold in contempt conduct themselves with dignity?

As a citizen, I prefer to be represented by government officials who can conduct themselves with dignity and maturity. Grown ups don't need to be coddled to the extent that the TSA representatives have insisted on being humored today.

Just more baloney from the baloney factory

The strategy has always been to mock and belittle the objectors and this seems to be a part of it.

P.S. I had to sit at the card table well into my twenties! Must be why I'm so warped.

I'm unfit for public office, because I'd be willing to set up a special table for the TSA representatives on a moment's notice.

I've kept such a table on hand since my kids were tots. It's the bomb-diggetty for accommodating two year olds:

Just call me the "Kool Aid Mom."

It's all they know how to act although I'd equate it more to a schoolyard gang complete with bullying, 'secret' signs, deflection of blame and of course, complete irresponsibility for their actions. Banging some heads together often works but that's not PC.

Two year-olds can be a pain but may be forgiven as it's not expected for them to know any better.

I know two year olds very well. I'm most concerned about the presence of only 2 plates and the unequally distributed 4 cookies. (Note that 3 is not a factor of 4.) Big no-no! That scenario is about 45 seconds away from a hair-pulling, eye-gouging free-for-all that the producers of WWF would give their eyeteeth to capture on film.

Consider the TSA as the skinny bully, and the American public as Casey the Punisher.

One day, someone's going to say, "ENOUGH!" and body-slam 'em.

Consider the U.S. Taxpayer's Hard Earned Dough the 4 cookies. There's more than enough for all Constitutionally mandated Federal functions, but the agencies are going to have to split the loot equitably, and limit themselves to what is actually there.

That is, unless they are two. If they're two, they'll tantrum until they've eaten each and every adults' dessert and the dog's milk bone, or until they've been spanked and put to bed.

Two reasons, I think...

1. They weren't subpoenaed; and,

2. Peter King made it publicly clear that HIS committee was the only House committee providing TSA oversight, in an obvious poke-in-the-eyes to Issa and Chaffetz. The TSA knows they have King's top cover. between Issa and King, I don't know who has more clout with Boehner, who, to the best of my knowledge, has been silent on this issue.

But, I'll betcha' Pissy has some people sitting in the hearing room's public gallery...
