Our tax dollars at work

Yesterday morn. prior to the start of my shift I observed one the TSA bdo's pushing luggage carts & collecting quarters for each one returned. So much for him paying attention & finding terrorists. Guess that's the result of low pay that they need to push these carts. Well like the title says our tax dollars at work.

Wish you'd got pics of that.

Just shows how low on the food chain they really are. Next they'll be diving in dumpsters.

At least it's more constructive than sleeping on one of the benches, or SPOTting.

Just to play devil's advocate, could he have been early for his shift or hanging around late after his shift, thus not on the clock? If that's the case, I don't think he should have been doing it in uniform because of the obvious perception problem. If he was "on the clock" somehow I don't think that TSA/DHS would approve of him collecting carts and supplementing his income in such a manner. Any funds collected should have to be forfeited to a charity, think March of Dimes or something.

Thank you for the much-needed chuckle.

I've lost count of the number of checkpoints I've passed through in the past five years where one of the DSOs complained about their co-workers being late.

Hey- not nice!

Dumpster Diving is refined and dignified personal statement with regard to conservation, recycling and global warming concerns. Think local, not global. Seriously, upper crust folks who buy stationary made from elephant waste at the Airport Souvenir Store have no business looking down on those who fashion stylish weather vanes from discarded Budweiser cans.

For shame!

Cut him some slack and think of the children. Luggage carts are an emerging threat to aviation security. Every cart that is properly corraled is a cart that won't be bringing down an airplane.

I am thinking of the children! If he continues to cut into my kids' pin money, they'll start nagging me to buy them snacks at the airport.
