Appears he didn't break any rules. He walked through the WTMD with nothing in his hands.

He was repeatedly asked to put his shirt on. Not sure if it was issues of decency, or political statement. Then again, how many 1x/yr travelers know who "Big Sis" is?

He was not patted down. If he really wanted to make a statement, it wouldn't have been hard to force the WTMD to alarm. Would a single car/house key in a "5th pocket" be large enough to set off the WTMD?

Single-layer clothing screening. Have fun.

You can opt-out of the WTMD if you really want a pat-down. You are not required to give a reason.

If you want to alarm the WTMD you don't need metal. Just touch the side when you walk through. Accidentally bump it with your hand. That's all it takes.

Wouldn't airport REQUIRE a shirt?

I'm thinking most airports have signs at the doors (like a restaurant) that you must have a shirt and shoes on before entering the building. I can understand that for health reasons.

I think TSA would have a problem with those signs.

Yea, I got that, after reading what I wrote. Yet I've found that authoritative figures prefer a reasonable excuse, no matter how unlikely, to a "no". So you have the time, say no. If you want to keep a lower profile, have an excuse.

Somehow, though, I just don't feel like someone going through security wearing a Speedo is attempting to keep a low profile.

How about a Speedo, a tight tank top of very open mesh, and flip flops?

Seems to be normal attire there:
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A college student has posted a video of himself on the Internet stripping down to a Speedo bathing suit at the Salt Lake City airport in a protest of security patdowns.
The video was purportedly shot Tuesday in a security line, but airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann says another Speedo protest is taking place Wednesday, with one man walking around in a Speedo, boots and cap.
Transportation Security Administration spokesman Dwyane Baird says the man isn't a security threat and won't be detained.

A screen shot from the video showing "Screw Big Sis" written on his bare back is on the top page of DrudgeReport.com right now.

I should try wearing that on my next blind date.

The TSA AKA the Govt doesnt care about your health. Now take off your shoes and be prepared to be molested.

Red face TSA security theater

I fear the TSA doesn't see the mockery of them in this type of protest since they're ingrained in their procedure.

Kudos to all those doing this protest.
