Seeking legislation re: AIT as primary screening method

I remember several months ago there was legislation considered by Congress that the AITs be used only as a secondary screening measure, and not as a primary screening measure. I'm hoping someone here has a better memory than me and can recall if it ever passed, the title of the legislation, and who sponsored it. Search isn't proving too useful as the latest uproar has generated too much discussion related to screenings and applicable laws. Thanks!

It passed the House but never was considered by the Senate and is now dead as a doornail.

That's a little strong. It can and undoubtedly will be reintroduced in the next Congress -- and maybe even in next month's lame-duck session. The House passed it once and would likely do so again. Maybe the new Senate would, too. I doubt that Obama would veto it, if both houses of Congress passed it. He could even order the same thing administratively, saving everybody a lot of aggravation.

Spoke with Rep. Chaffetz (R-UT) office yesterday. The bill is in the Senate attached to another bill. However, it will not be considered given the rest of the mess in DC. He plans to re-introduce the legislation next session.

Considering Obama endorses the current gropings and strip searches I cant see him endorsing this bill as a second screening only. Especially since he vwed to not spend any more money than required and these machines are going to cost the american citizen 1 billion dollars (notice I did not say tax payer as that word is now a buzzword then ends all critical thinking)
