Can pie fly?

The TSA website says "yes" but pies are subject to additional inspection.

Wondering WHAT that means???

I have no idea, but it's funny to think about nonetheless. I guess they would do an invasive check of your "pie hole"?

Yes, but it will have to place its filling in multiple 3 oz containers inside a quart ziplock bag. Crust can pass through normal security, assuming it has the appropriate id, boarding pass and is not on the "no fly" list.
