But i do understand that some airlines no longer print the SSSS on the BP; for whatever reason - I simply do not have the knowledge as to why - a very few airlines no longer print the SSSS. So they can hand write it in (usually what I SSS at SAT), or escort the passenger to the TDC.

Some carriers don't print it. Lufthansa uses a red stamp at ORD instead of handwriting SSSS. I'm sure every carrier or station has its own way but, as you said, "a very few airlines no longer print the SSSS" meaning a statement saying "the SSSS 'tagging' no longer exists" is false.

the SSSS designation still is present. CO airlines does not have the ability to put you in the database though.

Heck, the other week one airline at SAT had a sever computer problem with the selected list, it wouldn't work for them - so their solution was to make dozens and dozens of people selectees just like how it used to be: one way ticket, paid cash, bought short notice, etc. No problem for us at TSA, but pain in the back side for passengers.

I really think that TSA greatly improved things for passengers in how the selectee list is now implemented. Hopefully most of you will agree. Most likely not...

I would agree if the implementation were done through the airlines. It is, instead, now a requirement that we get government permission to travel and that part is unacceptable (IOW, in the old days it was "you travel unless the government says you can't" - now it's "you don't travel unless the government says you can").
