Oddly enough, I encountered the BEST TSA agnet I've ever met today @ MCO. Their "E Boarding Pass Scanners" were "broken" according to Lashonda and Shavonda (serious about the names) well this guy was willing to look for a NON BROKEN ONE and get me through security 30 min before my flight. I wasn't willing to fight DL for a BP or gate pass.
BUT :TD: to TSA for not having working scanners (or being too incompentent to care). |

http://www.rebelmodel.com/tsa/TKbusinesscard.pdf Page 2 is the front side. I have gotten a coupple of dirty looks from screeners because I have my FT luggage tag attached to the handle of my carryon. They would probably bore a hole through my brain after seeing a big neon keychain. Hahaha! |

Cut a small piece of sheet aluminium into the shape of a gun. Use as bookmarker. Leave in carryon.

Hide one of these at the checkpoint. The fun will last even after you are gone.
Annoy-a-tron http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/8c52/ Annoy-a-tron 2.0 http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/b278/ EvilTron http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/c427/ Someone hid one of these in my company's web developers office. It took them 3 weeks to find it and they were all convinced they were going nuts until they did. Or get one of these and want everything you are going to touch at the checkpoint while saying you can't be too careful about getting the H1N1 flu. http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/lights/8f84/ |

That being said, I do not suggest that you openly "provoke" TSOs, it can cause you troubles that I would hate to see come down on you.

West, could you please elaborate on that? In particular, I'd like to know if in this context, your use of "provoke" includes illegal activity or activity likely to endanger other people, and if not, I'd like to know what sort of troubles you believe the likely outcome of such provocation would be.
Plus, given the particular context, I could quite easily see someone finding an artfully-hidden Annoy-O-Tron and concluding that the device was a bomb ... with all of the unfortunate repercussions that you could imagine ... Which is why I suggested playing it straight and just asking for a comment card. Nothing actionable about that, right? :) |
Leaving an Annoy-o-tron at a security checkpoint is probably not a good idea, but is really funny in an office situation.

I will need to fly soon, unfortunately it is a short turn around trip so I can't risk fighting about IDs. I feel bad about that and one of my co-workers has already guilt tripped me about it.
Instead I figured I would have a bit of fun with the TSOs or "provoke" them if you will. Any ideas would be appreciated, let your imaginations run wild. |
