Oddly enough, I encountered the BEST TSA agnet I've ever met today @ MCO. Their "E Boarding Pass Scanners" were "broken" according to Lashonda and Shavonda (serious about the names) well this guy was willing to look for a NON BROKEN ONE and get me through security 30 min before my flight. I wasn't willing to fight DL for a BP or gate pass.

BUT :TD: to TSA for not having working scanners (or being too incompentent to care).

Hey TK, where can I order some of these? No actually, I would like to have a big key chain made up Just the way you have shown it here. Make it neon and BIG. I will attach it to the zipper on my purse.

I have gotten a coupple of dirty looks from screeners because I have my FT luggage tag attached to the handle of my carryon. They would probably bore a hole through my brain after seeing a big neon keychain. Hahaha!

I like the book mark idea but insead of a cut out, which i could see causing a legitimate bag search, How about using the letters G U N. Or you could use one of their secret key words like BRAVO.

Hide one of these at the checkpoint. The fun will last even after you are gone.

Someone hid one of these in my company's web developers office. It took them 3 weeks to find it and they were all convinced they were going nuts until they did.

Or get one of these and want everything you are going to touch at the checkpoint while saying you can't be too careful about getting the H1N1 flu.

I like this one, conveniently "lost" at the checkpoint:

While it might be fun to do to someone you deal with on a daily basis, hiding one at a TSA checkpoint (given the over abundant amount of paranoia there already) could wind up costing you either time or money or even both when TSOs over react (i..e incapactating honey fumes) and do a terminal dump just out of spite.:):):).

West, could you please elaborate on that? In particular, I'd like to know if in this context, your use of "provoke" includes illegal activity or activity likely to endanger other people, and if not, I'd like to know what sort of troubles you believe the likely outcome of such provocation would be.

I'm not West ... but given that "interfering with the screening process" appears to be sufficient cause to summon a LEO and demand a passenger's detention, I can see where a "joke" played at a checkpoint might not go over well.

Plus, given the particular context, I could quite easily see someone finding an artfully-hidden Annoy-O-Tron and concluding that the device was a bomb ... with all of the unfortunate repercussions that you could imagine ...

Which is why I suggested playing it straight and just asking for a comment card. Nothing actionable about that, right? :)

wr_schwab Feb 6, 2010 10:36 pm

Leaving an Annoy-o-tron at a security checkpoint is probably not a good idea, but is really funny in an office situation.

If SPOTTED do this: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/13320407-post133.html

Instead I figured I would have a bit of fun with the TSOs or "provoke" them if you will.

Any ideas would be appreciated, let your imaginations run wild.

Try wearing these through the checkpoint. Tell them that they are orthopedic (sp) and you cant take them off. :D

I have actually followed them down the block preaching the Word. Have you ever seen someone "dust their feet" while trying not to run? Ah good times.
