Actually, no. Intelligent people can agree to disagree. You happen to work for an organization that is generally hated by the people on this thread, but it's not a personal issue. I don't always agree with you, but you generally make sense and we appreciate your efforts.

We've had a number of helpful TSOs post on this forum over the years.

I'm guessing a bit, but once custody of the drugs is passed to the rightful person I think how it is packaged ceases to be a concern except for certain highly controlled items.

If someone got jerked around over some common meds I'm betting it wouldn't go far. Maybe a couple of questions (from a LEO not TSA) but no more.

Can’t find much, just this so far http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/...ml#medications

Bringing Medications or Filling Prescriptions Abroad

A traveler going abroad with a preexisting medical problem should carry a letter from the attending physician, describing the medical condition and any prescription medications, including the generic names of prescribed drugs. Any medications being carried overseas should be left in their original containers and be clearly labeled. Travelers should check with the foreign embassy of the country they are visiting to make sure any required medications are not considered to be illegal narcotics. (A listing of foreign embassies and consulates in the U.S. is available on the Department of State’s website at http://www.state.gov/s/cpr/rls/dpl/32122.htm. Foreign embassy and consulate contact information can also be found on the Country Specific Information for each country.)

Is there something about bureaucratic writing that prohibits the giving of a straight "yes" or "no" answer? I wish this is the first time that I've seen this ...

(Of course, I'm a professor, so I never give a straight answer to a question, so I'm a fine one to judge ... :) )

I second Mike's assessment. If you play fair, we can agree to disagree ... and both sides can learn from the disagreement.

Should
Could
Possibly
Chance of
Probably

Probably many more non-specifics out there, but you are definitely correct about the vagueness of officialdom writings.

And if the traveler is not going abroad?

I needed it for a case and the DEA couldn't find it, either. This was a dozen years ago, though.

I have been unable to find any federal law that provides for it, but state laws vary and some states actually apply this to all Rx's, not just to controlled substances which is absurd.

Federal law just seems to mandate the content you find on any Rx container with controlled substances: "Caution-- Federal Prohibits the transfer of this drug to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed." It doesn't seem to have a marked container provision aside from the dispensing requirement.

I like the fox urine idea. ^

I made up some business cards for my trip. Do you think they will accept it as ID?

You know, you could wear a dress and high heels, Tammy Faye makeup and speak in a husky voice, trigger a pat down and see what happens. You could even walk around and say things like "Hello boys" in your best Mae West voice, wink at the obviously macho ones, and whisper conspiritorially with the females. But, I am not suggesting anything;)

That being said, I do not suggest that you openly "provoke" TSOs, it can cause you troubles that I would hate to see come down on you. The condoms thing, I have seen as well. The brown undies bit is used quite frequently (and sometimes is an actual.... occurence), I love, love, love the tshirt things, smart TSOs will smile at you, maybe laugh a bit, and go about their business (or in my case, point the shirt out to my coworkers and maybe get you to pose for a pic with me).

I can't dress like a chick, I look like hell in a skirt, besides I am going to Oklahoma and would be shot on sight.

Any MCO TSOs that wish to stop me for a photo-op and an encounter card, feel free. Note: Actual card may be different, still playing with the layout.

As a matter of fact, yes it was. I would wear an arrow through my head but the TSA would think it a weapon.

Do they make those in full length?
