TTI National

TTI National (sub of MCI Worldcom) is offering 5.9 cents per minute State-to-State long distance calling, 24 hours per day 7 days per week. There is a $3.00 per month service fee. The best part - TTI National offers 6 second increment billing. I have frequently called an out-of-state number and gotten a recording. Listening to the recording and leaving a message to call me back takes about 18 - 20 seconds. Since the charge is based on 6 second increments the 18 second call costs 2 cents! You can even get an 800 number for your phone line and all incoming calls will be billed at the 5.6 cents per minute. Calling card calls are set at 13.9 cents per minute.

Loretta - Sorry, miles not available. But with rates like these - you will soon save enough in long distance OVERcharges to purchase your ticket.

If you provide me with your address, I will send you a packet of information.

Thanks for inquiring.

I currently use TTI and get 6.9 cents a minute but with no monthly fee! I've posted this before but have discovered that most people are like me and are looking for the miles. You can also use 10-10-555 and get charged 5 cents a minute with no monthly fee. They bill in full minutes, but still cheaper.

Thanks for your comments Miles Man. I thought the 10-10 numbers were cheaper at one time too. Like make a 20 minute call for 99 cents (5 cents per minute). But what they don't tell you is that you have to talk the entire 20 minutes to get the equivalent of 5 cents per minute. If you happen to get an answering machine and leave a message and you complete the call within 30 seconds - guess what - you just paid 99 cents for that 30 second phone call.

Compare that with TTI National incremental billing (6 second increment billing) - the 30 second call to leave a message would cost 3 cents! (1/2 minute @ 5.9 cents per minute = 3 cents).

Even at your 5 cents per minute rate you can save money on incremental billing.

I have helped over 50 businesses save 100's of dollars in their long distance phone charges each month.

If you want more info on how you can save money on your long distance service or how you can generate a continuous part time income, please contact me at [email protected]

The best LD rate is found at bigzoo.com - no monthly fee and rate is 03.9 cents per minute - day or night. I learned about it from this Board months ago and have been very happy with it. I travel and this allows me to call home from a hotel using the 800 access number for just 3.9 per minute.

Tofromord:

I checked out the bigzoo.com website. It looks interesting. In the FAQ section there was a reference to a surcharge of $.55 when making phone calls from a pay phone or hotel rooms. Have you experience this to be true? Comparing with TTI National, they also charge a surcharge when using pay phones of $.35.

Since you prepay for your calls and there is a six month expiration on the prepay, have you ever lost out on unused prepay minutes because they had expired?

I like the cell phone concept. 3.9 cents is better in my book than the current $.25 that I am paying now. I may give it a try in conjunction with my cell phone usage.

Thanks again for the heads-up.

I have used bigzoo and it is fine. Personally I did not like dialing the extra numbers and I would rather have the miles. But it was legit and worked fine and clear.
