DFW to Machu Picchu

Planning a trip to Machu Picchu, Peru end of this year. Apprx 10 days.
I live in DFW area.
I have a British Airways, Priceline, and SPG.
Have read not so great reviews regarding Lima airport. I know my final destination is CUZ.
I have found an SPG resort in Cusco that I think I have covered. And in Lima.
Flights from DFW to CUZ are very expensive. Appears to be a better deal DFW to LIMA.

Any suggestions on best route?
We could stay in LIMA a day or two, or I could get another cc for more miles and try DFW to CUZ direct.

Also, any advice on tour agencies to way take care of all applications for site entries?

Kind Regards,
Teri Schmig

Right now you can fly for $440 from a few DL hubs to Lima, if not you can price
Out the difference in airfare to lim or cuz and you make the choice, since you have ba account, hopefully you have 9,000 avois then you can save $$$ from lim to cuz.
Also read up on the South American thread on FT, it has some good info

Just saved myself ~$450 using Avios. About $13 in taxes. Had to book over the phone (USA) since the BA website does not show LIM-CUZ so they waived the phone fee.^

Cheers
