The better part of a day @LIM, with a slight catch
Unless LA opens up some award space, it looks like we'll have the better part of a day/evening @LIM for our connection. Although I generally wouldn't mind this, we'll have not insignificant carry-on luggage (not full roller size, but substantial and heavy enough, and containing valuables) to be an issue for just touring around town.
Suggestions for where/how best to pass the time, assuming our small dose of paranoia with our wares? I'm sure at least 2 of the hours will be spent on a nice dinner. Total ground time is 13 hours, so I figure 30 minutes for arrival tramites (no luggage to wait for, not peak hour), another hour to get to Miraflores or similar, an hour to get back to LIM, and I'd want to be there no less than 2.5 hours prior to flight time for the madrugada flight bank. Also, how does one pay the departure fee if it isn't part of the ticket (as this is an int'l/int'l connection)?
Obrigado!

Have you considered the luggage storage option? Here is the link:

I suggest you also to check this thread:

JohhnyColombia even posted some interesting pictures.
It all depends on whay you enjoy the most: museums? walking tours? archeological sites? Shopping? bohemian neighborhoods? I suggest you to check the mentioned thread (and I think there are others, too) and then ask more specifical questions ig you have any doubt, I'll be glad to help you. BTW, when are you coming? Depending on the season the suggestions may vary too.
About taxes, if your ticket doesn't included, you must pay just entering the terminals, right before the X-ray checks:

Eastbay, even though TUUA is now included in tix, they still have one booth open always to pay the tax (domestic or international): same place, second floor just before the security checks.
The left baggage is quite secure, just outside domestic arrivals. You can even have a locked locker for roll-on sized. And safer than carting it around Lima.
As for fun... well... no shortage of options, give us a hint of your preferences...

Thanks for your feedback. I'm just not keen on leaving laptop, keys, medicines, etc. in an airport safe, and I hate carrying passports on our persons. Other than that issue, we'd easily fill up our day.

In strange lands or situations, I usually carry my passport on those security bags withing my clothes, they are comfort. Try to buy one before you travel.
