Best breakfast at PDX (AS gates)

First time in years that I have the opportunity to connect at PDX. Capers used to be my go-to spot for free PP meals, alas…

So my question: what’s the best breakfast restaurant, preferably on the AS side of the house?

I’m partial to the Yumm! Rancheros at Cafe Yumm! (yes, the exclamation point is part of the name). I usually get it with scrambled eggs and add the jalapeńo-sesame salsa. 😋

Yeah, I am familiar with Cafe Yumm. We have a couple of them in town. Ours aren’t open for breakfast, but we like their bowls, so will check out their PDX menu. Thanks!

Yep, the PDX location is the only one that’s open for breakfast, and the only one that has breakfast items (served all day). We try to stop there every time we pass through PDX! Strangely, the breakfast menu doesn’t seem to be available at the moment on the website, but if you view that location and “Order Takeout”, the resulting page shows the entire menu.

PDX is going through a redesign in the central terminal. Near TSA inside security there are sone new spots

Thr C-E inside security connection is open.

Yes, I explored the terminal and found new and familiar places. Noticed the connector is now open. Last time I connected from AS to DE had to exit the secure area, I think.

Dutifully had Yumm! Rancheros as a suitable start to a Mexico winter getaway. Oddly they didn’t have coffee at Yumm! but Mo’s next door had some.

I still get my free PP breakfast at Capers, but near AS gates you can do the quintessential Screen Door fried chicken and waffles breakfast. It’s not as good as at their Burnside location and they don’t have pecan praline bacon, but it’s a good breakfast/brunch at the airport.
