I thought that BWIA had an agreement with Continental Airlines in place.....
see: http://www.onepass.com/air.htm
According to this press release, it states, "BWIA had negotiated a code-sharing agreement with United Airlines which, if approved by the FAA, could also lead to United flying to Barbados, and would give passengers the choice between United Airlines Mileage Plus, and BWee Vantage Points."
If you look at United's Mileage plus site, it doesn't say anything about BWIA:

i can not believe it. There is life here!
I am glad to see that BWee is improving their aircraft. They made some $ the last 2 years. Let's hope that the employees do not get greedy and ask for big increases, effectively wiping out the small step forward.

Well, it's about time there was some life here, IsleTraveller. After all, BWee is older than most of the other airlines listed here; and if the UN Human Development Report released yesterday - http://www.undp.org/hdr2000/english/presskit/hdi.pdf - is any guide, it flies to the best places to live in the western hemisphere - Canada, USA and Barbados - in that order

Hey Baje, doh go an start any truble here yuh no ... everybudy know T&T is de best in de Caribbean.
Being a transplanted Trini myself it's great to hear from other islanders. My first flight ever was with Beewee - POS TAB in under 30 minutes - so I have many fond memories of this colourful airline.
IsleTraveller, enjoying T&T for me. Don't forget to get some curry crab at Store Bay!

My first flight was also on LIAT back in the days when it had jets - a BAC111 - nice ride (BGI-POS). LIAT is now struggling to survive and is facing tough competition from newer carriers like BWee Express, EC Express (read Air Jamaica) and Helen Air. BWee wants to take over LIAT since it is the major shareholder and run it as a connector, but the Antiguan government will have none of it and recently hired an ex-pres from a big Irish airline to help turn it around.
Hopefully, the new terminal at Piarco will be ready by the time you get to Trinidad. The old one was a big headache for travellers for "donkey...ears." I hope also that you have fun in Tobago - the diving is the best. Gabe, I don't eat crabs but I love T&T roti. I'll come close feasting on them at Chefette in a few weeks in Bim.
