Looks like they removed the Points & Cash feature - it's all or nothing now.

New Fares
In the app update it seems that they have removed the fare with 2000 points, which normally meant an improvement of more than 10 euros.
But I have also seen something interesting, before, starting from 2,000 points, if you used, for example, 10,000 points, the 8,000 points were valued at approximately 3 euros and now they are valued at 5 euros, so in rates using many points the savings can be significant, compared to before. Even so, the fare with 2,000 points used to be very profitable. |
I booked a cash + points Junior Suite at one of their Level properties. They've just told me (three days before the trip) that all Level rooms are undergoing maintenance. They're offering either 10% cash back, a free upgrade for a future stay (useless as I won't be going there again) or 10% off at the restaurant (which I'm already entitled to). This seems pretty cheeky. I need to clarify the size of the rooms they have because if they have nothing the same size they're ripping me off.

That sounds like a joke, the benefits they wana give you are like you said useless.
Maybe its possible to get them to book you into another hotel of them? I once booked rooms in a nem hotel of them but they changed the opening date. At first they offered us just to change dates but after i complaned i was reebooked to another hotel of my choice and they also refunden the cost of reebok my flights. (The new hotel was on an differen island) Does anyone knows if the online check in funktion at the moment working with the "new" app? Im a platinum member and miss the option to get the free upgrade directly through the checkin. |
It doesn't sound good. It seems to me that it is not the way to notify that they do not have availability and the worst thing is the proposal they have made to you, I think it is ridiculous

I am Platinum for life, I have had problems with the app and I have contacted them and they know that it is not working well, the response I have received is that they are working to resolve it. I know they have received many complaints.

Hi, has anyone tried the direct-conversion into (IB) avios? The normal transfer is 100MR to 30 Avios. Melia Silvers normally earn 10% more points (11MR/1eur), Gold 30% (13MR/1eur) and Plat 40%. Would the direct-conversion also give more avios? 100MR = 33 avios for silvers, 39 for gold and 42 for plats?

Any recent recent info about online check-in…Still not working?
I have reservation to Meliá phu quoc on March. As a Platinum have really appreciated those 2 category upgrades while checking in online on app, but if that’s also gone now with the new app and other loyalty “enhancements” I will probably stay elsewhere on my upcoming stays 🫤 |
I think it depends on your stay.
At the moment there wasnt any upgrades offered throug the online check in progess.B But i only stayed in germany and spain. 4 Months ago it was still possible in the caribean |
Sounds bad.. I still got great upgrades in Melia Frankfurt, Dussedorf, Bali and Cancun late 2024 through online check-in.
But zero experience so far after updating the New app version.. Level acces assumably still available for platinums? |
As Platinum For Life, I have asked what is happening with the app, they have told me that soon the rates with 2,000 points, online checking and other improvements will be available in the app, but if you call the customer service phone number for gold and platinum, in Spain it is +34 912764747 they can give you the rate with 2,000 points which is always better than without the 2,000 points.

The SouthEast corner was (is?) the corner suites/panorama room, but due to the new building the South-West corner, pictured above, is the best room view. Shout out to their guest experience coordinator Veronica who is truly superb, she worked her way up from Front Desk instead of being parachuted in, I was well treated even as a pleb-Gold. Happy hour in the Level lounge is 6pm-8pm....soon.... |

I’m trying to book on the app, and recall previously there was a slider to let you determine the number of points to use for a reservation. I was hoping to use 2,000 as that was always the best value previously, but it seems like the option is gone and it uses all my available points. Did something change?
