I've noticed rates for this promotion are quite high ? One example of a base room one day was $141 vs $107 on Last Minute code PDLM. In the past, few found the 15% codes useful compared to on sale rates and if you essentially finance the extra points with a higher rate then its basically an entry on the Car draw. 4X, 5X base Aeroplan miles per stay may have been a more interesting offer I would speculate.

CPSA vs other rates
FYI......checking rates for the Delta Ottawa for Nov 13 and this is a great example of CPSA member rates.

For Nov 13 at Delta Ottawa....CPSA rate is $155 (50% off Best Available) for Basic Mode Room... vs. Book & Board rate $309 vs. CAA $279 vs. Last Minute $294 vs. Hotels.com $309 vs. Web saver $294... Good news is if you are Plat+ you can lock in the $235 CPSA rate Mode Suite Club room at time of booking. If not for CPSA this location would be priced to high for my spend limits and passed over.
CPSA is not always the best rate but often very useful in high traffic business locations when doing price checks prior to booking. Sometimes you could pay for the annual CPSA membership with one nights saving's.
In contrast the more recreational properties tend to restrict business/sale rates.
For Dec 20-22 at Delta Whistler....CPSA Rate is $319 for a base Delta room...vs. Book & Board rate $319 vs. CAA $288 vs. Last Minute N/A vs. Hotels.com $319 vs. Web saver $288...Good news is if you are Plat+ you can lock in the $594 CAA 2-Bedroom Suite at time of booking.
For Dec 27-29 at Delta Kananaskis...CPSA rate is $229 for Basic Delta Room... vs. Book & Board rate $229 vs. CAA $207 vs. Last Minute N/A vs. Hotels.com $229 VS Web saver $195... When I started off as Gold I was given a few extra comp upgrades past the two (hotel discretion) so Gold for 3 stays is a good deal. Even better if you are a Gold and the offer can bump you to Plat/Plat+.
