I've noticed rates for this promotion are quite high ? One example of a base room one day was $141 vs $107 on Last Minute code PDLM. In the past, few found the 15% codes useful compared to on sale rates and if you essentially finance the extra points with a higher rate then its basically an entry on the Car draw. 4X, 5X base Aeroplan miles per stay may have been a more interesting offer I would speculate.
