I read that, but it seems it's quite old! I was looking for more current info.

I'll probably never achieve any level of status with Kimpton (my stays are all for occassional leisure weekend trips in DC), but I really like the hotels I've stayed at.
If nothing else, being a Kimpton In-Touch member gets you free wi-fi.

I was comped to Inner Circle status by sending Kimpton my SPG Platinum information a couple of years ago and have kept that status and I stay at Kimptons when ever I can because the service is much better than I get from any other hotel chain. As an inner-circle member I get a bottle of wine and a fruit plate in the room and more often than not get upgraded to an amazing suite. If you spend much time in locations where they have hotels (particularly DC or SF) I would recommend you check them out...

I've only stayed a handful of times, but became a member right away because of a previous experience where I didn't join the Marriott program and then went on to stay 20 nights.
The few hotels I've stayed in have been very nice, with pretty good service.
I don't know if some of the benefits for in InTouch members mentioned above are new, because I'd never experienced them before, until last week.
I stayed at the Serrano in SF, and was comped WIFI, which was great. Got the $10 credit to the mini-bar too (which had better than average offerings too, IMHO).
I had booked an executive King and didn't get upgraded and it fact then found out they put me in the accessible room, which bothers me if I didn't book one, but I never said anything so not sure how they'd have responded.
I was traveling with a colleague who stays with them far more often and he was put in a nice suite on the top floor. Not sure if he's Inner Circle or not.
The rate was very competitive and much lower that the Starwood properties I usually stay in when I'm in SF, so I'll definitely consider going back there again and will be giving other Kimpton hotels a try too.
