This just showed up as a google alert, with the news that "New Icelandair" will begin a 3 class cabin this November.

Details here:

Here is a cut and paste of the description:

Icelandair today confirmed the launch of New Icelandair on 01 November this year. The main feature of New Icelandair will be the introduction of a third cabin on all aircraft. The new cabin feature the new Economy Plus class and will offer passengers 4 abreast seating, additional legroom vs economy, complimentary meal, soft drinks, wine and beer. Economy Plus passengers will also have use of Icelandairs Saga Class checkin and lounge.
Saga Class has a maximum of Luxurious 22 seats and dedicated in flight attendants, a 39 inch seat pitch, dedicated check in and lounge facilities and complimentary meal including all drinks.
Economy Class has a 32 inch seat pitch and a snack and soft drinks included. Meals and alcoholic beverages are available at an additional charge.
All three cabins will be refurbished with new seating and in flight entertainment system.

Very interesting; 2x2 seating, free drinks, use of Saga check-in and lounges....why buy a Saga class ticket?

I cant believe they stop serving meal in Y, its not really the free meal that i want, but it just seems time pass quicker when there is a meal run in 3-hour flight.

I've had a look at Icelandair's site and it seems to be only the fully flexible Premium Economy fare that gives lounge access. All the same, will Saga be worth it for an extra 6" of legroom?

I hope this isn't the start of a phase-out of Saga class.
