Just flew CDG-OTP on a 737-300. I was the only passenger in business class. Food was much better than my DL Hindu special meal out of SLC. Service was attentive. Forward cabin lavatory was out of paper towels, I had to use a tissue. Seats are tough to beat for intra-Europe. The pillow cases were dirty. Leg room was similar to DL domestic first class. I was offered pre-departure beverages: water, orange juice, champagne.

TAROM business class configuration

Hi everyone,

What is the configuration of the front cabin on RO? I heard they have 2+2 seats, similar to domestic first in the US. Other say it's EU-style 3+3 with middle seat blocked. Does it depend on aircraft type? I looked at RO's website but could not find any details.

Thanks!

I tried looking for you on SeatGuru and ExpertFlyer but they dont have any seat maps for TAROM. I would be very surprised if it were anything other than the typical European 3-3 with the middle seat blocked.

I cannot find the picture anymore (I appear to have deleted it) but on the B737 (flew them 3/4 times) it's 2-2 fixed seating.

Edit:
there is already a thread on the topic actually.

Based on the November edition of Insight magazine (for fleet numbers and seating capacity), and personal experience / other posts (for seating arrangements), the business class sections of Tarom's fleet are currently configured as follows:

A310 (x2)
20B + 189Y
No direct info, but I assume this is 'recliner' business class seats

A318 (x4)
14B+99Y, 26B+81Y
This is 3+3 seating, with an adjustable cabin-divider and blocked middle seat in business.
Overhead TV

737-800 (x1)
189BY
According to svajcarac, this is also 3+3 seating (presumably with blocked middle seat in business)

737-700 (x4)
14B+102Y
2+2 'recliner' seats, in a fixed cabin (cupboard and 3 rows on the left-hand side; 4 rows on the right)
Overhead TV

737-300 (x4)
8B + 126Y
2+2 'recliner' seats, in a fixed cabin (2 rows)
No TV/IFE

ATR-72 (x2)
68BY
No information

ATR-42 (x7)
48BY
No information

In my opinion, the 737-700 is the best option (but you probably won't have much choice, as I don't think there are many routes where Tarom operate multiple aircraft types...)

I'd for Hilton, Radisson next door, or Intercontinental (nearby).

I've stayed at the Hilton and it's fairly decent (minus noisy aircon in my room)

Thanks a lot, I will be on an A318 from LHR. Looks like the typical 3-across, EU-style. :-(

A310 has business recliner seats (2-3-2) config.

I flew DXB - OTP on that aircraft and it was comfortable.

The front row on those planes has incredibly tight legroom. I'm not very tall and I still have trouble with it. Rows further back are better but I avoid row 1 just for that reason on RO.
