PDL Transfer time
Guys - planning to book a mid-April multi-city trip through Chase since I have Ultimate rewards points to use
JFK-PDL S4 246 landing at 6:50am
PDL-PIX SP 436 departure at 8:05am
I'm doing multi-city because if I just do a regular booking JFK-PIX, Azores forces me into a 6 hour layover. 75 mins is cutting it short obviously even if PDL is a tiny airport. Flightaware shows a 95% arrival in time or early for JFK. We will only have carry-on luggage
1) if I do a multi-city trip, is the airline's responsibility to get me onto time or not really because it'll be 2 separate tickets?
2) Is Azores generally flexible if I miss my flight to put me on the next flight at 12pm for no extra charge or they are likely to charge me price difference?
Thanks

It doesn't matter if it's a multi-city or a one-way, it'll still likely ticket as a single ticket - but double check.
Usually SP's inter-island tickets are fully flexible (double check the fare rules to make sure), and it's a 20% (15-20€) charge on an 85€ ticket if you no-show. The key will be availability if it's during high season. While PIX tends to have a few flights per day, you can also check with Horta and São Jorge - there are regular ferries between the islands (these don't sell out typically). Check your alternatives.
Also FWIW - SP's inter-islands flights tend to be late.
