Flight prices via DOH to destinations across Asia/Africa have been exorbitant in recent years. I hope this, along with Emirates new route, will help bring prices down.

A new route to Helsinki is of course interesting, but there is no cooperation with Finnair and no options to earn points on Finnair plus. In fact, very few options to earn outside SkyPearl (but I do believe it is possiboe to credit to BA club.

I will move this thread to teh 'Other Asian, Australian, and South Pacific Airlines' forum where CZ/Sky Pearl Club currently resides.

Would it not be possible to earn points to BAEC and then move them from there to AY+? Obviously no tier bonus and no tier points though.

But if AA and BA already are partners with CZ, it wouldn't be all that surprising if AY become one too. I thought that was the plan when CZ already promised a PKX-HEL service the first time, only to scrap it because of Covid. Are there legal restrictions for EU carriers regarding codesharing on flights over Mordor air space?

CZ offers aggressively priced business class flights from Europe to Australia/NZ, but ex-HEL tickets not on sale yet:

Yes, and I will test the BA crediting in a few weeks. I could not find any way to add/change FFnumber on a CZ booking so it is down to check-in managing to do that right.
The number of "partnerships" is low and it seems only cover earning miles, no status no nothing.

And I think CZ even said they will focus on growing alone and only when they are the largest airline in the world (more or less) they will consider alliance/partners.

CZ was Skyteam and retains varying levels of status recognition and rdemption with them. But I'm glad they are adding another European destination given the growth in demand thanks to visa free policies.

The proximit of CAN to CX and HKG poses issues for Oneworld membership.

I believe the number of skyteam options are dwindling. Flying Blue recently ended Partnership with CZ. VN Lotus miles listed CZ the other week, but now they have an updated webpage and I can't find that anymore.

The benefits are still partially recognised between Flying Blue and CZ. CZ retains benefits recognition with CI, MF, KE among some others.

For Flying Blue : China Southern - FM miles and status benefits

Just note that on the Flying Blue side, they've temporarily stopped miles accrual on CZ this year "due to ongoing IT developments", whatever that means. So for the moment, it looks like benefits might also be paused too, which would be a pity......hope it comes back at some point.

For other airlines, check with the respective loyalty programme. You can sort of estimate what benefits there are based on reciprocity : https://www.csair.com/mcms/mcmsNewSi...mber/hyqy/hzhs

I am sure there isn't. AF/KL/LH/OS all has codesharing on flights over Mordor air space
