I certainly don't want to come off sounding disgruntled, but, the rules are, you must have 180 posts to post SPAM. I see SPAM posters with 15, 21, and 30 posts, yet I am blocked out because I have less than 180. What gives? Is it also 180 days membership? If so, I more than qualify on that point. Not that I have anything to contribute to SPAM. Y'all are a lot quicker on the trigger than I on the latest offerings. Just wondering what is going on.

Some of those posts may have been from before there was a requitement to post in SPAM.

Eg this thread near the top of the forum, was started well over a year ago.

That sounds logical and a reasonable response. Thanks.

CC Requirements update

A few weeks ago, the requirements for posting/reading CC were going to be 'made public' (or at least that's what was rumored). Any update on when this will happen?

I'd actually like that as well...I've only been a member for about 4 months, and I had heard that the requirement was 30-90 days of membership, or a certain number of posts. I tend to read the forums just about real time during the day; and despite not posting so much, I find that I've learned quite a bit here and that my contribution in some cases may *just* be for the sheer fact of adding up the posts. There are many who are more qualified to answer certain questions than I am, and there are some who even seem to post just to add up their numbers.

Anyhow, I totally understand why the policy is there--and it's a good one. I would just like to know WHAT I can do (or how much longer I'd have to wait, etc.) to try and get access to CC.

Thanks for providing this service...I thought I knew a lot before starting to lurk around here; but I've learned quite a fair share of travel knowledge.

Cheers~,

I'm not sure why these types of questions come up but am more than glad to try and answer. It really does not mater what the past, present and future requirements might be for forum posting privileges of any kind. I say that because the value of FlyerTalk to all the others, will be what you naturally have to contribute and what you feel comfortable in participating in. All members when they happen upon FlyerTalk make a decision to register and to post only on those things that are visible to them - not things they hear about later on. Granted, there are a few forums that over time might add additional value to some FlyerTalkers, but in no way do they diminish the value that FlyerTalk has in providing superb value to our members with real information on how to get more from your frequent flyer programs - all from the mouths of others.

A guideline for FlyerTalk - what all members have access to today is far greater than what most of us had to begin with. It worked for us then, and still works for us now.

As for the "rules" for CC and SPAM? Let those forums come to you... you cannot go to them.

Randy,

Thanks for the clarification...I apologize if my comments seemed ungrateful.
Surely, FT has provided a venue for the transfer of much knowledge and information, and for that I am thankful.

I appreciate your efforts and the efforts of everyone else who have helped this site come together, and for providing so much value to all the readers (such as myself).

As for the SPAM and CC and such -- it was more of a curiosity...I'm in no hurry to get anything or obtain access to anything.

Thanks again for your reply.
cheers~
