Perhaps others are interested in the reply as well.

Heck, these are surely just five random and totally un-connected responses Punki.

Not everyone is Sleepless In Seattle (etc) it seems.

How can moderators give straight answers when they mostly all automatically veer to the far left.

As it happens, my bonafides on the right are pretty well beyond question.

The Answer is 'Yes'

Punki:
The answer is yes, moderators have access to search in our continuing effort to offer the best possible customer service for our members. Until this PHP programming langugage glitch is remedied for every large-scale bulletin board, search will remain off to the general membership for Board performance reasons. When a few mods noticed that they would be more helpful to a few members if they could have access, i thought it a resonable request - since the use would likely to be proactive for our members and we figured out a way to do it. Here's an example. A member noticed in OMNI that others were talking about "best mattresses" and thought they remembered a former thread on that issue. I did a small search and then posted the results so that members were better served with additonal information contributing to that thread. Here is that example:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=404658

As it has been from the beginning - moderators are here for member service and this is one of those situations.

Hope this answers your question. Now I'll go back and read what those who have answered for me have said.
