Proxy servers, multiple handles, ghost writers

Just curious if these types of participation are condoned on FT. If they are are not approved, then how is it regulated?

BTW, how many moderators and "flyer talk evangelists" use multiple handles?

Multiple handles are a violation of FT's Terms of Service, unless specifically approved.

Craig6z, for instance, is approved to have a second handle which he uses for his moderator duties. It's moderator2.

When duplicate handles are discovered, the offending member is generally given a choice which one to keep and in most circumstances a 'timeout' is warranted.

But those are general statements. Did you have something specific in mind?

You forgot to ask how many "regular" members use multiple handles too.

Yeah, one would think that high-volume "evangelist" posters wouldn't have time to be using multiple handles

See for example in this thread and this thread :

AA_Only
AA__Only
AA___Only
AA--Only

I think someone is going for a FT record!

Wow , I have never seen a thread with that many banned handles. Before now I had only noticed 2-3 banned handles.

Some "new" members have some interesting interests.

I'm always amazed at some people's accelerated thought process. It took me months of reading and getting to know the community before I started noticing stuff like this. Others seem to get it in a few short weeks. ^

Some of us have just lurked for quite a while.

I specifically asked for permission to create a new user handle and have my old one retired as my old one was simply my first and last name, and I started wondering if my attraction to miles and points would be something I'd want people Googling me for.

Of course this makes me look like a newbie rather than someone reading and posting occasionally since 2000 (and keeps me Omni ineligible) bt I waste enough time as it is

Some of us learn the rules and tricks of the trade quickly, yes.
