Two Thumbs up for TalkMail
I will admit it... I used to hit the delete button when this arrived in my in-box.
But lately... I gotta say... TalkMail rocks. I'm finding new threads I didn't know about and getting an interesting spin on FT events. And I also like the side dose of humor and snark with my special delivery.
Keep up the great work!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but do you have to sign up for TalkMail specifically? I used to get it, but haven't gotten it for some time...

You can view TalkMail here. To get emailed TalkMail, go to MyFlyerTalk, select Edit Options. In the section Messaging and Notification (second section down the screen) tick Receive Email from Administrators.
Hope this helps.

Maria has written to me asking for information and I am certain that she has done that with other F/Ters as well. That is good, old-fashioned, journalism -- going beyond just skimming the board to pick up a few quotes.
The result? A better product. She is a valuable asset to the FlyerTalk team.

Kiwi, Maria wrote to me before I started that thread. For some reason, after I posted it I have gotten no PMs or e-mails from any women connected with this forum.
I can't figure out why.

I appreciate the resources Flyertalk offers but I prefer to access them when I want them without having them thrust into my inbox without permission.

I just started the registration process again and realize that (at least now) there is an option that says "From time to time, the administrators may want to send you email notices. If you do not want to receive these notices, disable this option." I guess when I signed up I probably thought the e-mail notices would be more than the latest hot posts, and would be produced seldom, and as necessary rather than every few weeks.
If you really want a communication channel for important. I've learned my lesson and almost no web sites get my personal or work e-mail addresses but rather a commercial junk/spam Yahoo address that gets filled up with spam, newsletters, and other detritus, and almost never gets checked. Many of them have excuses--I did after all give them my e-mail address although I would have refused any newsletters/marketing if they had given me the choice. But collectively I'm not going to read any of it. I'm drowning in this stuff.
Anyway if you really want to get my attention, I usually read the announcements actually on the bulletin board.
