For coupon connection, the 100 post rule is truly inane, IMHO.
As a result of this rule, a travel voucher valued at $100 that I couldn't use.. went unused... and expired... because I couldn't offer it for free and because my limited circle of friends (in real life) had no use either.
I briefly thought about marathon-posting.. so that i could have a forum to be generous.. but then I thought.. let their own rules hurt them.

Unfortunately, for the 1 guy like you, there's 99 that want a free ipod. I guess we'll have to live with the loss...

I was hoping the 100 post minimum for S.P.A.M. would perhaps chase away those who joined for iPods or GMail but I guess I was wrong... they found ways to get around it. I never would have noticed someone pulling a trick like this.

Albeit not a scientific study... i went into coupon connection.. and searched back 75 days.. took the last 3 days to come up (june 5,6,7)...
Of the 21 posts listed...
13 were offers of stuff to trade by people who had less than 100 posts
5 were offers of stuff to trade by people who had more than 100 posts
1 was no offer.. just a "I need" post by someone with less than 100 posts
1 was no offer.. just a "I need" post by someone with more than 100 posts
1 was a post in the wrong forum...

Rules are rules. It appears to me that you signed up when the 100 post rule was in effect. If you don't like it, then try another Frequent Flyer Community Bulletin Board. I appreciate this BB and the people that help make it a great community. I do not appreciate people that are new that rant and rave because of a rule that is in place upon joining.

I am ok with the 100 post rule now. It has actually been a benefit to me becuase it forced me to visit other forums. I really thought Miles & Points was the only thing here. How wrong I was!
I like reading the Omni forum for the range of topics. I also got to know the Women Traveller forum by finding out about some cool products and shared my love of the Revostyler.
Reflecting back, it was a good change.

Well jamestraveler75 is going for a new record
Last I checked he was at 34 posts in 57 minutes - how come flood control doesnt get him
Is there a mininum time belonging criteria also?
Well I have no doubt he will be at 100 within about a half hour - and it is now impossible to see what is really new in the UA forum since he/she has chosen to just go thru there and bump old posts
Personally - I think this person should get a "time-out"

In all fairness there should be a 100 post requirement to post anywhere on FT.

New Rules Apply to Those Who Joined Prior to the New Rules
Re-submitted for consideration from previous 100-post-rule dialogue: a combination of tenure and posts would be more meaningful for the intended purpose the rule is seeking to accomplish. And, just one more thing as long as I have the floor, I think grandfathering due to tenure was a pretty good idea, even if I did submit myself (as a less-than-100 poster
).

Relax
sheesh!!!!
and Jan.. thats what happens when these types of rules are input.. these rules are just begging for this to happen.. and I actually can't blame them.. although they sure could disguise it a little better.. or maybe they don't care too as they want to show the flaw in the rule...only they know..
