Lightbulb "Revelation" data! Some surprises.

I think the Revelation has been a really good and enlightening thing.

Many have heretofore stated that 17 days must elapse before a poster can re-ding someone else. The Revelation has shown that that is not exactly true. My first ding came from someone who is still mad at me for moderating him on another website several years ago and he was able to re-ding me withiin 16 days.

Now this is sad. This same person also dinged Hunki, who hasn't got a mean bone in his body, for this innocent, friendly post:

Last Tuesday evening while boarding our AS flight in LAS heading back to SEA, Gauge Guy from Spokane, who also sat behind us in seat 2A, saw the yellow tag on my suitcase (which was also not visible in the photo above).
Of course, I was surprised to learn that I had dinged myself, using my old iknuP handle that I had long forgotten about. Looks like the hacker is still alive and well.

I really had to laugh at the person who dinged this post:

We arrive late Friday evening, and will be in NYC all weekend.
What were they thinking?

I also got dinged by a friend. I e-mailed him and he assures me that it was an accident. He will make it up to me somehow.

Within about a 24 hour period when the reputation feature first became available, I was dinged by, and received nasty comments from, about 12 people in a row. I have since learned that all of those folks (almost all of whom have long resided on my ignore user list) are active posters on a site called Tire Flock. Guess that is a place that I am happy to avoid.

All in all it confirmed that the people on my ignore user list have rightfully earned their postions.

Best of all are, of course, the blings. Lots of great folks out there on FlyerTalk spreading joy and happiness around the world.

I still haven't discovered who it was who dinged someone else using my name. That will be interesting, or it could be the hacker using my old iknuP handle.

Thanks, Randy, for the Revelation solution.

Blast it, Punki, I am going to ding you for THIS thread.

The subject line was very misleading. I thought you had come up with some new information about Har Megiddo, which is quite close to my house.

(I should explain to those of you who don't speak both Hebrew and English that Har Megiddo is translated as "Armeggedon". Further information is available in the final book of the New Testament.)

Smile Dovester, you always manage to make me laugh.

The only information I have heard about Armeggedon (and this is a rumor), is that anyone who wastes an average of an hour a day on FlyerTalk will be Left Behind.

Is there any way to give a thread a negative :-: rating?

Well, I'd say Armageddon sick of this whole "reputation" fuss, except that I still can't see who posted the hits, plus and minus, on my rep.

(And let's hope folks aren't so incensed by wonderful puns that they burn me for the above one. )

Wrong. Most leading theologicians will tell you that anyone who gets to spend an hour a day on FlyerTalk is in Rapture.

Counsellor,

Try logging out and logging back in. That might help.

I had to do that yesterday before I was able to see who left what feedback.

Brothers and Sisters, I have seen the light.

The Day of Reckoning has come, and all has been revealed.

And the Lord said unto me, "Ding onto others as they and their fake second handles ding onto you".

An eye for an eye, a ding for a ding. Vengence shall be mine, I swear in the name of the father, the son and the chocolate bar!

Punki, the key word there is "today". I am 10 hours ahead of you, so right now I am in your tomorrow.

That undoubtedly explains why I have more insight into revelations of future events.

However, I have two requests of you:

1. Don't let the rabbis in Israel know that I have been reading the New Testament.

2. PLEASE learn to spell my name correctly. "Dovster" comes from my real name, "Dov", which is Hebrew for "Bear". The way you spelled it there is an implication that I am a pacifist, which as almost any member of the Omni Left will certify is definitely not the case!

Opus17 undoubtedly chose to reword that realizing that if he keeps eating those chocolate bars he probably won't have a tooth left to trade.

I work in mysterious ways. And I haven't had a tooth cavity since 1972.

Well very interesting you mention www.tireflock.com

The coward that signed my name to another member's "reputation" I understand initiated that board - or at least promoted it the most here on Randy's bulletin board.

I posted a link to the thread where some of the playmates were gambolling with gay abandon and guess what - in a day they have removed the content, and the link entirely. Something to hide boys?:

http://www.tarom.net/vb/showthread.php?t=9

For anyone who DOES care to read the interesting "Welcome One and All thread" they frantically removed - please email me - I have a screen capture of it still.

The thread starter and first poster within 7 minutes of that are most interesting.
