Lightbulb "Revelation" data! Some surprises.

I think the Revelation has been a really good and enlightening thing.

Many have heretofore stated that 17 days must elapse before a poster can re-ding someone else. The Revelation has shown that that is not exactly true. My first ding came from someone who is still mad at me for moderating him on another website several years ago and he was able to re-ding me withiin 16 days.

Now this is sad. This same person also dinged Hunki, who hasn't got a mean bone in his body, for this innocent, friendly post:

Last Tuesday evening while boarding our AS flight in LAS heading back to SEA, Gauge Guy from Spokane, who also sat behind us in seat 2A, saw the yellow tag on my suitcase (which was also not visible in the photo above).
Of course, I was surprised to learn that I had dinged myself, using my old iknuP handle that I had long forgotten about. Looks like the hacker is still alive and well.

I really had to laugh at the person who dinged this post:

We arrive late Friday evening, and will be in NYC all weekend.
What were they thinking?

I also got dinged by a friend. I e-mailed him and he assures me that it was an accident. He will make it up to me somehow.

Within about a 24 hour period when the reputation feature first became available, I was dinged by, and received nasty comments from, about 12 people in a row. I have since learned that all of those folks (almost all of whom have long resided on my ignore user list) are active posters on a site called Tire Flock. Guess that is a place that I am happy to avoid.

All in all it confirmed that the people on my ignore user list have rightfully earned their postions.

Best of all are, of course, the blings. Lots of great folks out there on FlyerTalk spreading joy and happiness around the world.

I still haven't discovered who it was who dinged someone else using my name. That will be interesting, or it could be the hacker using my old iknuP handle.

Thanks, Randy, for the Revelation solution.
