Concise Summary attorney28.
gleff. Have emailed you the threads involved, as screen captures FYI. Or as much of them as I bothered keeping updated. It got pretty silly in the end. Due to my time zone, caught a few others on other Forums that were MOST interesting before they went on holidays too. ------------------ ~ Glen ~ sipping bubbly from a UA 747-400 exit row 15 near you SOON! |
Pretty concise summary, Attorney28, except for this inaccurate statement:
In other news, Punki opened a few threads complaining about threads getting moved or closed, and when one of them got moved or closed, opened a new thread to complain that that thread got moved. In truth, I opened exactly three threads this weekend: 1. The first was this thread where I outed Squeakr for misrepresenting the nature of some private e-mails I had sent her regarding her moderation efforts. 2. The second was this thread sharing my experiences with my compromised FT accounts. 3. The third was this thread where I asked why the very bitter moderator gossip session regarding me, and only the one regarding me, had been removed. That seemed very odd to me, but made sense when the other threads containing moderator sessions regarding other members were also removed. I am seriously interested, Attorney28, what were you thinking when you added that sentence to your summary? |
Stop the Hitler nonsense now.

And how about answering my question about using the same password everywhere first?

Godwin's Law Godwin's Law prov. [Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. However there is also a widely- recognized codicil that any intentional triggering of Godwin's Law in order to invoke its thread-ending effects will be unsuccessful. http://info.astrian.net/jargon/terms...win_s_Law.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |

At the risk of sounding most unlike me, I really am wondering what the last 7 posts have to do with the THREAD IN QUESTION?
More insights to the hackers Please let's remember whose Forum we are in folks. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif |
I dated a German girl for about a year (2003) and she always told me that they are not supposed to say things like even remotely like that-- never in Germany do you hear that kind of stuff in public. I made some WWII jokes initially and they were NOT well received (unless they were at the expense of the French.) I spent a lot of time in Berlin and jocular, flip references to Hitler are really, really, really offensive to most Germans (yes, there are obvious-- and ugly-- exceptions.)
The more I read Ozstamps quoted section the funnier-- and truer-- it is. Anyone who mentions Hitler again is worse than Bin-Ladin!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif |
Ok, Attorney28, since it is obviously emotionally stressful for you, I promise that I shall never again mention any German historical figures on FT.
I did not, BTW, use the same password for FT and my e-mail. As a matter of fact I am now using randomly generated passwords and have just been advised by MSN that even as I write, someone is trying to hack through my new passwords. Now, would you plese be so kind as to share what you were thinking when you posted this sentence: In other news, Punki opened a few threads complaining about threads getting moved or closed, and when one of them got moved or closed, opened a new thread to complain that that thread got moved. |
I can see getting to a group hug will be a bigger challenge than I anticipated.
Time to pull out the big guns: I've got a bottle of Johnny Walker Bluuuuueeee!!!!!!!!! |
I know. I know. I messed up the counting. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
