Live Chat duration
Hi Randy,
forgive me if this question has been asked already but I couldn't find it. Is there a reason why the live chats are only an hour long? I think it would be better if it was at least 90 minutes since it takes a bit for the person talking to type their answer and that eats up alot of the time.
thanks for your time.

I agree. More time is needed to dialogue with the guest(s).

Really no reason, it just seemed like a nice round number at the time and one that we felt comfortable asking for their time for. We felt that asking for the 90-mintes was a stretch since it would be like 2 hours by the time it was done. We have had guests in the past that come on before and stay late, so it's really up to the guest themselves to make available other time.
We're working on a full complement of guests for 2004 so look for a monthly schedule pretty soon.

Thanks, Randy!
And in some sense the conversation doesn't end at the specified end time or even when the program representatives leave the chat room. Let's not forget Rupert Duchesne's closing,
(Emphasis mine.)
I'd say that in some sense the dialogue continues in the program's forum. We may not get a posted answer right away, but I think we sometimes forget how valuable a resource for the programs that Flyertalk and its instant feedback and customer research function can have for a program...
