I agree, but at least the copy I receive is very hard to read. It doesn't display as HTML, rather all HTML code shows up on the screen. The reason is likely that in the email header there is a blank line before
Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
which needs to be part of the header without blank lines preceding it. There are also other header fields that appear after a blank line. Incomplete headers are likely to activate spam filters. Can this be fixed?

Yes, TalkMail is nice. It looks fine in my AOL e-mail.
One small quibble: the current edition (received 10/31/03) says, "Currently, we're up to 'Who We All Are 8'." The bio for RichardMEL is then quoted, from March 2001.

... can we contact the member in question for their "current" bio - or at least check to see if they want to update? I know a bunch of us posted when we first came to FT and may have a lot of changes in our life since then... or do we have to post a new bio? I noticed, for example, that several FTers no longer live in the city they did in their bio... or fly the same airlines... or even have the same job/status/etc.
... can we contact the member in question for their "current" bio - or at least check to see if they want to update? I know a bunch of us posted when we first came to FT and may have a lot of changes in our life since then... or do we have to post a new bio? AOL 5.0, which is the most advanced version of AOL for Mac OS9, is unable to read e-mail sent with HTML
Mac OS X users can get a version of AOL that handles HTML, as can users of Windows 98 or later.
My advice to you, if you can only upgrade as far as AOL 5.0 is to check your AOL e-mail via the www.aol.com web page
(a.k.a. "AOL Anywhere"); doing this will allow you to read the HTML encoded mail without the gobilygook!

That is why I thought it slightly odd that they would use a bio from....March 2001.
A LOT of things have changed in the world since then!!!

We just tested it again on Outlook Express, using XP and 98, and it came through fine. We also tried it on Hotmail, Yahoo and Apple's Mail, and there weren't any problems.
Hagbard, can you tell me where you saw that you need to keep headers all together? I ask because that's new to me, and when sending a multipart email (as we do with MilesLink), you have to separate the header's content-type in order to serve both text and html within the same email.
Sorry about the formatting problems some of you are having, but we can't duplicate the error on our end.
